Our Craftsmanship
About Vandenberg Woodcraft
Vandenberg Woodcraft is an independently owned workshop in New Westminster, BC, Canada, where every item is meticulously handcrafted by a single artisan. My journey began with wood, a craft passed down through generations of my family dating back to Holland in the early 1600s. Woodworking was more than a skill—it was a heritage, a way of connecting with those who came before me. Over time, I felt the urge to push boundaries and explore how wood could be merged with other materials such as metal and stone. That curiosity led me to create wood-and-metal rings, pieces that embodied both strength and warmth. Eventually, I found myself crafting jewelry that contained no wood at all. Some might find it unusual that a ring maker with “Woodcraft” in the name now works in materials far beyond timber, but for me, the name is a reminder of my origins and a symbol of how traditions can evolve without losing their soul.
I often think of companies like LEGO, which began with wooden toys before transforming into the iconic plastic bricks we know today. Their evolution didn’t erase their roots—it expanded them. In the same way, Vandenberg Woodcraft honors its heritage while embracing growth. Each piece I create is a bridge between past and present, tradition and innovation. When you invest in a piece from Vandenberg Woodcraft, you’re not just buying jewelry—you’re becoming part of a story of resilience, creativity, and heritage. Every ring carries the weight of history and the spark of individuality. It’s more than an accessory; it’s a symbol of connection, crafted with care, and designed to last.
While our signature focus is on rings, we also craft pens, key chains, and pendants with the same passion for innovation. Custom commissions are enthusiastically welcomed—whether you bring your own idea or entrust me to design something unique, every piece transforms from production into true art.
